Introduction
University School of Applied Management (USAM) was established in year 2011 with the sole aim to offer unique courses linking academia with industry. The department took lead and stood out as the first institution in the region to collaborate with the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (presently undergoing renewal process) to offer unique MBA Five Year Integrated Course in the specialised area of Financial Markets where the students get an opportunity to study NCFM modules along with the other courses at the graduation level and the post graduation level. Besides offering Five Year Integrated MBA Programme in Financial Markets the department also offers an opportunity to students to pursue Five Year Integrated MBA Programme in Applied Management. The prime aim of the department is to prepare students for diverse careers in business and industry of the 21st century. The programme makes a difference in terms of skill development of the students, teaching pedagogy and evaluation pattern with main focus on continuous evaluation of the students. There is a provision of workshops on soft skills, personality development, communication skills, and the development of presentation skills of the students. In addition to its flagship Five Year Integrated Programme the department also started Two Year Programme MBA (Financial Markets) in the year 2018 and the Two Year Programme MBA (Applied Management) in year 2022. The department also offers Ph D in Applied Management.

Activities
- The department organised a UGC sponsored National Seminar on Emerging Paradigms in Indian Financial Sector in collaboration with National Stock Exchange of India Limited, on 28th February 2012.
- The department organised a UGC sponsored National Seminar on Innovations in Banking and Financial Markets: Issues and Challenges, in Collaboration with SBOP and National Stock Exchange of India, on 8th December, 2014.
- The department conducted a UGC Sponsored Seven Days National Workshop on Analytical Techniques for Research from 18th December 2015 to 24th December 2015.
- USAM organised a three day workshop on Foundation of Data Envelopment Analysis from 12th May 2016 to 14th May 2016.
- The department organised a Seven Days National Workshop on Structural Equation Modeling Using AMOS and PLS from 17th January 2020 to 23rd January 2020.
- The department of USAM hosted the Campus Connect Lecture Series of Business Line held in association with Indian Oil Corporation, on 23rd February 2023.
- An investor awareness program was organised by the department in collaboration with NSE and SEBI on 6th March 2023.
- Department of USAM has conducted many extension lectures from industry experts and professionals to prepare students for placement.
- Department also arranges industry visits for the department students to help them understand the real working environment.
- USAM organized its first alumni meet to celebrate and refresh old relationships on 16th January, 2023.
- An expert programme on investor awareness was organized by the department in collaboration with Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), National Stock Exchange (NSE) and National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) on 06th March, 2023.
